In order to maximize the educational, responsible, and ethical use of computers as learning tools, I agree to the following conditions:
1. I will use all computer equipment with care and respect.
2. I will not access the Operating System without staff consent.
3. I will use only staff approved software on school computers.
4. I will report any hardware or software problems to the teacher immediately.
5. I will save only to the workspace designated by my teacher.
6. I will not bring food or drink into any computer area.
7. I will be reasonable in the use of printers. If printing more than 2 pages, I will obtain staff permission.
8. I will be reasonable in the use of computer time and only use computers for school-related tasks. I will not engage in the following behaviours:
„ downloading or streaming music from the Internet
„ playing games, unless authorized for educational purposes
„ plagiarizing or pirating
„ using obscene or foul language, or racial or sexual slurs
„ copying software illegally
„ accessing unauthorized areas
„ sending, displaying, or downloading offensive messages or pictures
„ using other user accounts
9. I will not login to a computer in an unsupervised area.
10. I am aware that Network Administrators will view my files without my consent to ensure users
are using the systems responsibly.
NOTE: FAILURE TO CONFORM
TO THIS CODE OF CONDUCT FOR COMPUTER USE AT O.D.C.V.I. WILL RESULT IN SCHOOL
DISCIPLINARY ACTION.
eg: Loss of computer privileges, possible
suspension, etc.
